The beginnings of Putna Monastery, the most important religious, cultural and artistic centre in mediaeval Moldavia, take us back to the year 1466 when, upon the initiative of Prince Stephen the Great (1457-1504), a church of impressive dimensions was built on a patch of forest cleared for the purpose. The edifice was erected among 1466 and 1469 and consecrated in 1470; to it was added a few more buildings: a princely home standing on the southern side, outer walls and defence towers; all of them completed in 1481.

A few years only after the completion of the buildings and fortifications, a dreadful fire destroyed most of the church, the outer walls and the princely home. The following years, the prince and founder rebuilt the church that soon recovered its former lofty appearance.

In 1536, another conflagration seriously damaged all the buildings; there followed a new restoration completed in 1559, on the initiative and at the expense of Prince Alexandru Lăpuşneanu (1552-1561; 1564-1568).

The church was unusually large for its time, but the explanation was that it was built to be the burial place of the Prince, his family and his successors. The thick walls are made of massive blocks of stone, and twelve buttresses support the walls. Originally there were only six, and the other six were added during the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Tower of the Thesaurus is the only one left from the fortifications of Stephen the Great’s monastery. According to the plaque, it was built in 1481 and it was conceived as a two-floor building, with a terrace at the top, with a crenellated parapet. Today it has a sharp roof. Light comes in through narrow windows, decorated with frames of sculpted rock in a laic manner reminding the late gothic. The Entrance Tower, made of a base floor crossed by a passage and a vaulted floor provided with bulwarks, belongs to the 17th – 18th centuries.

Even though the church does not keep anymore decorative elements, bricks and glazed discs, specific for the architecture of Stephen the Great’s time, it resembles other contemporary churches in shape and dimensions. The walls are split in two areas by a belt in a rope shape, with a row of holes sculpted in the plan of the wall in the higher part. The northern wall was strengthened with counterforts added in the 18th century.

The inside of the church is split into five rooms (porch, pre-nave, the tomb room, nave and altar) and it certainly belongs to he original plan. The two entrance doors situated on the southern and the northern sides of the porch allow the access into the church. A frame of gothic influence especially interestingly made connects the entrance door to the pre-nave.

Its walls host Stephen the Great’s tomb. The oak leaves, the folded trunks forming four heart-shaped medallions and the bull’s head decorate the tombstone deposited in a niche in the tomb room. It was here that the ruler’s last wife, Maria Vochita, the second wife, Maria of Mangop, having a tombstone of oriental inspiration, as well as Stephen the Great’s two sons, Petru and Bogdan were buried.

Cinema is for us another way of living life. I think that movies can show us how live can be or should be. Regarding movies we can learn from the story that is presented, we can take qualities from actors/actresses, we learn how to manage in different situations and we can start to believe in things that haven`t exist since then in our mentality. I think a movie can change in a way or another you behavior, your thoughts about something, your life. It depends of our personality what kind of movies we like to watch to and it depends of a person if she wants to learn something from the facts presented.

There are many types of movies like:psychological movies, love stories, comedies, thrillers, dramas, action movies, police movies, science fiction movies, cultural movies, documentaries, horror movies. About TV series we can say that we found there all kind of movies. A particular type of TV series is soap opera where we can find a lot of conflicts, dramas and love stories and, of course, happy end. I used to watch soap operas because the beautiful/good looking there.

My favourite type of movies is the psychological one because you can learn a lot of things from it and it lets you interpret as you want the facts and it makes you meditate. I like to love stories even if they didn`t have a happy end. Of course that I like more those that have happy end because I like to think that there are love stories with happy end in life too even if they are less. I hate the movies about war. There is so much violence and so much noise that I can`t see what it`s real important there. The action is the same during the movie and sometimes you can get bored.

I didn`t see a lot of movies but I have some movies that I liked very much.

For example there is a movie called City of Angels. I liked that is underlined an important fact in our life:we cant`t change our condition. The main character sacrificed his immortal condition for his love, but in the end his love left him because she had an accident in which she died.

So the mortality was the one that separate them. I liked Phenomenon too but my favourite movie is Awalk to remember. It`s a love story without happy end at first view but it has an inside happy end. It`s the typical story with the girl that learns a lot and has no popularity and the most popular boy in the scool.

Because one of his faults he has to make some hours for community service. That`s how he has to play in a theatre play in scool and of course, his partner will be that girl. He asks for her help and that`s how they love story stars. The girl has leukemia and the boy found out this later and the boy proposed to make all her dreams came true. He works a lot for doing this and he really does this. Because she is sick she dies in the end that`s why the movie doesn`t have a happy end. But there is a happy end for them souls because they were happy.

Soundracks have a huge importance in cinema because sometimes the soundtrack can make the movie. You remember the soundtrack too and this is a change for a soundtrack to become famous.

About the movie that is made upon a book I can say that is interesting for us to see it but only after we read the book. In this way we will realize if the movie respects the book, we can see the action in the book with ather eyes not only how we saw it when we read the book. A film made after a book that staid in my mind is Gone with the wind. There are too a lot of things that are changed to attract the viewer but my opinion is that is a good movie.

I like a TV series too. It is called Prison break. I like that the main character is made to be very intelligent. He tattooed on his body the plan of the prison where his brother was closed in. he tattooed the plan of escaping from there too. The main character is played by Wentwort Miller that became my favourite actor. It`s the only movie that I saw with nim but I think that`s enough because he played in every situation and I saw that he can play every character. I like very much how he looks but this isn`t the main reason I like him for. He knows to be the serious guy, the intelligent guy, the romantic guy too that`s why I consider he is a good actor.

My favorite actress is Angelina Jolie.I like her as a person because everybody knows that Angelina is a beautiful woman but I like her as an actress. She played in Mrs. and Ms.Smith where we saw different faces for a character, faces that she can play very well.

That`s a representative movie for her. If you see that movie you realize that Angelina can play every character she is been given to her.

I think cinema represents one of the great arts because a movie includes images, music, feelings and poetry. That`s why we need to watch movies. We can see all we want if we choose the right movie for us.

It depends of our feelings, of our way of being, of our thoughts when we watch a movie and the most important thing is to remain with something after we saw a film because every thing has his importance.

Mary, a virgin, was living in Galilee of Nazareth and was engaged to be married to Joseph a Jewish carpenter. An angel visited her and explained to her that she would conceive a son by the power of the Holy Spirit. She would carry and give birth to this child and she would name him Jesus.

At first Mary was afraid and troubled by the angel's words. Being a virgin, Mary questioned the angel, "How will this be?" The angel explained that the child would be God's own Son and, therefore, "nothing is impossible with God." Humbled and in awe, Mary believed the angel of the Lord and rejoiced in God her Savior.
Surely Mary reflected with wonder on the words found in Isaiah 7:14 foretelling this event, "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

While Mary was still engaged to Joseph, she miraculously became pregnant through the Holy Spirit, as foretold to her by the angel. When Mary told Joseph she was pregnant, he had every right to feel disgraced. He knew the child was not his own, and Mary's apparent unfaithfulness carried a grave social stigma. Joseph not only had the right to divorce Mary, under Jewish law she could be put to death by stoning.

Although Joseph's initial reaction was to break the engagement, the appropriate thing for a righteous man to do, he treated Mary with extreme kindness. He did not want to cause her further shame, so he decided to act quietly. But God sent an angel to Joseph in a dream to verify Mary's story and reassure him that his marriage to her was God's will. The angel explained that the child within Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit, that his name would be Jesus and that he was the Messiah, God with us.

When Joseph woke from his dream, he willingly obeyed God and took Mary home to be his wife, in spite of the public humiliation he would face. Perhaps this noble quality is one of the reasons God chose him to be the Messiah's earthly father.
Joseph too must have wondered in awe as he remembered the words found in Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

At that time, Caesar Augustus decreed that a census be taken, and every person in the entire Roman world had to go to his own town to register. Joseph, being of the line of David, was required to go to Bethlehem to register with Mary. While in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus. Probably due to the census, the inn was too crowded, and Mary gave birth in a crude stable. She wrapped the baby in cloths and placed him in a manger.

Out in the fields, an angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds who were tending their flocks of sheep by night. The angel announced that the Savior had been born in the town of David. Suddenly a great host of heavenly beings appeared with the angels and began singing praises to God. As the angelic beings departed, the shepherds decided to travel to Bethlehem and see the Christ-child.

There they found Mary, Joseph and the baby, in the stable. After their visit, they began to spread the word about this amazing child and everything the angel had said about him. They went on their way still praising and glorifying God. But Mary kept quiet, treasuring their words and pondering them in her heart. It must have been beyond her ability to grasp, that sleeping in her arms—the tender child she had just borne—was the Savior of the world.

After Jesus' birth, Herod was king of Judea. At this time wise men (Magi) from the east saw a star, they came in search, knowing the star signified the birth of the king of the Jews. The wise men came to the Jewish rulers in Jerusalem and asked where the Christ was to be born. The rulers explained, "In Bethlehem in Judea," referring to Micah 5:2. Herod secretly met with the Magi and asked them to report back after they had found the child. Herod told the Magi that he too wanted to go and worship the babe. But secretly Herod was plotting to kill the child. So the wise men continued to follow the star in search of the new born king and found Jesus with his mother in Bethlehem. A Stormy Day in Mother Earth’s Garden

Mother Earth lives in a beautiful green garden. In the back of her house is a lovely blue pond, as round as the moon and as blue as the sky on a bright sunny day. When Father Sun shines his warm sun rays down to Mother Earth’s garden, they dance around on the surface of the pond behind her house, and then the golden fishes living there jump up high to catch them.

At one edge of the pond is a great old willow tree, whose branches float over the edge of the water. Under the willow tree, at the edge of the pond, is a patch of soft green lily pads, where all the frogs that live in the pond like to sit. The great big frogs sit on the great big lily pads and the little frogs sit on the little lily pads, and they all sit there and sing together when Father Sun wakes up and again when he goes to sleep. Their song is very loud, so even Father Sun can hear it!

The little frogs like to swim in the pond all day long and they are friends with the golden fishes that live there. Sometimes they swim together with the golden fishes down to a world of rocks at the very bottom of the center of the pond. This is their very own castle and they love to play there, for there are many rooms to play in!

Brother Wind comes visiting Mother Earth’s garden some days and blows his gentle breath across the land. Then the branches of the old willow tree dance on top of the pond and tickle the great big frogs that are sitting on the lily pads there. Brother Wind sends his gentle breath across the surface of the pond and the golden fishes are rocked ever so gently down below. Sister Rain sometimes comes visiting Mother Earth’s garden and sprinkles her drops all around. The little frogs love to swim on the surface of the pond when she comes to visit and to feel the pit-a-pat, pit-a-pat of her fingers tapping on their backs.

One day, Brother Wind came visiting Mother Earth’s garden and brought two new friends with him: Terrible Thunder and Crackling Lightning. Even Brother Wind didn’t know how much trouble they could make! Into Mother Earth’s garden they came to play. At first nothing seemed unusual. But

then Terrible Thunder began to clap and shout so loudly that all the little frogs went dashing down to the bottom of the pond to their castle of rocks to get away from the terrible sound. Then Crackling Lightning began to shriek and pounce, and all the golden fishes went dashing down to the bottom of the pond to get away from him. Brother Wind was so upset that he began to whirl and dash here and there, round and about, great waves began to crash on the edge of the pond and the great old willow tree’s branches got tied into a terrible knot.

Mother Earth heard all the noise in her garden, and saw how frightened everyone was. She went outside and called to Father Sun for help. Together

they shooed Terrible Thunder and Crackling Lightning on their way. Only then did Mother Earth see what a terrible mess they had made! Then she called to the flower fairies and garden elves, and together they worked to make the garden beautiful again. The flower fairies untied the great old

willow’s terrible knot and her branches hung gently over the edge of the pond again. But the little frogs and the golden fishes were nowhere to be found!

They stayed hidden in their underwater castle until Mother Earth called her water fairies to swim down and tell them all was safe again. That night the great big frogs and the little frogs sang to Father Sun as he got ready to go to bed, and they were as loud as ever could be. They wanted

Father Sun to know how glad they were to see him again! That night Lady Moon brought all her star children to shine and sparkle in the dark night sky and they sang lullabies over Mother Earth’s garden all night long.

BODY LANGUAGE

Body language is a form of non-verbal communication, consisting of body pose, gestures, and eye movements. We send and interpret such signals unconsciously. Body language may provide cues as to the attitude or state of mind of a person. Humans, sometimes unconsciously, send and receive non-verbal signals all the time. Some people (e.g., people with certain disabilities, or those on the autistic spectrum) use and understand body language differently, or not at all. People from different cultures can interpret body language in different ways.
The study of body movement and expression is known as kinesics. Gestures can emphasize a point or relay a message, posture can reveal boredom or great interest, and touch can convey encouragement or caution.

The eyes communicate more than any other part of the human anatomy. Maintained eye contact can show if a person is trustworthy, sincere or caring. Staring or gazing at others can create pressure and tension in the room. Shifty eyes, too much blinking can suggest deception. Eyebrow muscle draws the eyebrows down and toward the center of the face if someone is annoyed. If someone is empathetic and caring during dialogue the eyebrows will not show the annoyed facial grimace. If a person is looking at you but is making the arms-across-chest signal, the eye contact could be indicative that something is bothering the person, and that he wants to talk about it. People with eye movements that are relaxed and comfortable yet attentive to the person they are conversing with are seen as more sincere and honest.

By analyzing the movements of over 80 facial muscles involved in smiling, researchers can tell when a smile is true. There are 50 or so different types of human smiles. Authentic smiles are smiles that "crest" or change rapidly from a small facial movement to a broad open expression. A genuine smile is often asymmetric and usually larger on the right side of the face. Smiling without opening the mouth, and particularly with lips firmly pressed together, may indicate embarrassment about unsightly teeth. It may also be a suppression of words. A half-smile, on one side of the face, may indicate cynicism, sarcasm or uncertainty.

Arms can act as the doorway to the body and the self. When they are crossed, they form a closed defensive shield, blocking out the outside world. Shields act in two ways: one is to block incoming attacks and the other is a place behind which the person can hide and perhaps not be noticed. If the thumbs are up, this may indicate some approval or agreement with what is being said. When arms are not crossed, they expose the torso and the person, making them more vulnerable. This signifies comfort that often indicates trust. Sometimes folded arms, for example, are just a relaxed position.

Sitting with slightly open legs is a relaxed position, showing the person is comfortable.
When one foot is forward and the other behind, this can be taking a extra stable position in case of frontal attack. Legs which are held apart when standing provide a stable base for the person. Standing with feet about the width of the shoulders is a normal, relaxed pose. Slightly wider indicates that the person feels grounded and confident. As with arms, crossing legs can protective and negative, shielding the person from other people and their ideas. Crossing legs when standing can be an indication of shyness or being coy and may be accompanied by such as hands held behind the back and a lowered head. An ankle cross with legs tucked under the chair can indicate concealed anxiety. When sitting, a knee waving sideways can indicate impatience or point sideways.

Space is important. Personal space is needed and if it is invaded intentionally and at times by oversight can cause an individual to feel uncomfortable or threatened.

Communication

Communication is commonly defined as "the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs". Communication is a process of transferring information from one entity to another.

Communication are a process whereby information is enclosed in a package and is discreeted and imparted by sender to a receiver via a channel. The receiver then decodes the message and gives the sender a feedback.

There are three major parts in human face to face communication which are body language, voice tonality, and words. According to the research:
• 55% of impact is determined by body language—postures, gestures, and eye contact,
• 38% by the tone of voice, and
• 7% by the content or the words used in the communication process.
Although the exact percentage of influence may differ from variables such as the listener and the speaker.

It is helpful to examine communication and communication theory through one of the following viewpoints:
• Mechanistic: This view considers communication as a perfect transaction of a message from the sender to the receiver. (as seen in the diagram above)
• Psychological: This view considers communication as the act of sending a message to a receiver, and the feelings and thoughts of the receiver upon interpreting the message.
• Social Constructionist (Symbolic Interactionist): This view considers communication to be the product of the interactants sharing and creating meaning. The Constructionist View can also be defined as, how you say something determines what the message is.
• Systemic: This view considers communication to be the new messages created via “through-put”, or what happens as the message is being interpreted and re-interpreted as it travels through people.
• Critical: This view considers communication as a source of power and oppression of individuals and social groups.
Communication is the process of generation, transmission, or reception of messages to oneself or another entity, usually via a mutually understood set of signs.
